Alpha held a One Page Strategy seminar

November 12th saw the first from a series of strategy seminars organised by Alpha Management in cooperation with the IBF. The event took place in the Hotel President in Prague and hosted around 35 attendees from different backgrounds.

The seminar introduced the ‘One Page Strategy’ concept, which had been used by more than 100 companies who decide to straighten their processes and establish a firm and healthy growth path.

Rodney Yeadon, MD of Alpha Management Consultants s.r.o. opened the seminar and emphasized the importance of continuous improvements of the local operations, especially in these gloomy times.

The guest speaker Stuart Roberts has broad strategic experience forming visions and implementing strategy for companies like Heinz or Xerox. He talked about the current Czech business environment and stressed the importance of engaging the whole senior team in these turn-round situations.

Ian Thomson, strategy and culture change specialist, who developed the ‘One Page Strategy’ approach, gave an excellent presentation covering the 5 step process along with some practical examples and case studies. He has supported many companies in delivering exceptional results through the OPS.

Janice Orchard, marketing and customer service specialist, who has been involved in many OPS projects spoke about key issues, customer surveys and gave some examples of customer value propositions.

The second guest speaker Jiří Polouček, as a senior consultant with PA Consulting Group in Prague, has delivered many OPS projects in the Czech Republic and Slovakia ranging from the financial to the automotive industry.

Dramatic changes in recent weeks urge smart companies to improve every aspect of their operations. The starting point for these programmes needs to be a review of strategy to ensure its ‘fitness for purpose’.
